Verna T. Braden, 92, died Jan. 4, 2013.
She was born in Harris, Iowa, and lived in Brevard County since 1985, coming from Chicago.
Before retirement, she was a beautician.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Elks Lodge, Melbourne; Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2825, Chicago Heights, Ill.; and Ladies Auxiliary Cedar Lake Post 261 and American Legion, both of Cedar Lake, Ind.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Bennett, of Vero Beach and Karleen DuBois, of Houston; sisters, Lucille Rush, of Lake Park, Iowa, and Norma Anderson, of Oregon; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; and her son, John.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are by Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home and Crematory in Melbourne.
