VERO BEACH — A vintage Belgian street organ pumping out lively holiday tunes is just one of several attractions sure to spread joy to visitors attending “Holidays at McKee: An Old Fashioned Celebration” taking place Dec. 20, 21 & 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at McKee Botanical Garden.
The Garden will maintain regular business hours, closing at 5 p.m., then reopening at 6 p.m. to welcome visitors to a festive wonderland filled with thousands of twinkling lights and eye-catching holiday decorations including a new 20 ft. snowman and an island of misfit toys.
McKee’s G-scale model train display featuring three trains and over 200 ft. of track will delight young and old, and children can write and hand-deliver their wish lists to Santa who will be on site for the celebration.
Swing by Mrs. Claus’s Serendipity Candy Shop for a taste of something sweet, or for those craving something more substantial, visit Elizabeth’s at the Garden Café where a selection of seasonal snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.
“Holidays at McKee” is a chance for local residents to gather with family and friends and celebrate the spirit of the holiday season at one of the area’s most historic locations,” states McKee Executive Director Christine Hobart. “ Visitors of all ages are invited to experience this celebration themed around old fashioned fun.”
“Holidays at McKee” also offers visitors their first opportunity to view Fräbel REIMAGINED at night. The exhibition contains over 200 pieces by acclaimed flamework glass artist Hans Godo Fräbel and includes many never before seen pieces making their worldwide debut at McKee. Fräbel REIMAGINED is currently on exhibit through Apr. 30, 2013.
For those seeking last-minute gifts, the Garden Gift Shop will have a variety of items to choose from including a selection of limited edition Fräbel ornaments. Visitors also can enter a drawing to win a signature Fräbel Wavy Bowl valued at $3,000.
Tickets may be purchased for $5 each and will be sold through Jan. 31.

General admission fees are $10 adults, $9 seniors, and $5 children ages 3 to 12. Admission is free for members and children under 3.
Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m. The Garden is closed Mondays.
