Richard “Dick” H. Brown, 70, Vero Beach

Richard “Dick” H. Brown, 70, died Nov. 20, 2012, at his home.

He was a lifelong resident of Vero Beach.

He served two tours in Vietnam War with the Army.

He was a member of the Baptist faith.

He was a 30-year nonpracticing alcoholic with AA, where he was a mentor.

He graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1960.

Survivors include his sons, Jay Brown of Lake Worth and Adam Brown of Palm City; daughter, Helena Bence of Sandy Lake, Pa.; mother, Beulah Brown of Vero Beach; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ellen Brown and Charlotte Alzada Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, P.O. Box 1776, Vero Beach, FL 32961.

Services: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 26, with a service at 7 p.m., at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
