William Harrison, 91, Vero Beach

William Harrison, 91, died Nov. 3, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

He was born in Detroit and moved to the area in the early ’80s coming from his birthplace.

He was veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.

He also was a prisoner of war.

Before retirement, he worked at General Motors for 28 years.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion both in Cass City, Mich., Moose Lodge in Port St. Lucie, General Motors Retirement club and the Waterford Eagles, Waterford, Mich.

Survivors include his son, Karl Harrison, of Seattle; sister, Florence Prichard, of Carsonville, Mich.; companion, Millie Hilligoss, of Fort Pierce; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Melva Steinman; his sons, Kenneth and Keith.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at Aycock Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
