Bernard H. Slater, 74, died Nov. 6, 2012, at his home.
He was born in East Providence, R.I., and moved to Sebastian 20 years ago.
He served in the Navy.
He was a welder for the citrus service industry before retirement.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10210 of Sebastian.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sally Slater, of Sebastian; son, David Slater, of Western Florida; daughter, Debra Slater, of East Greenwich, R.I.; stepdaughter, Heidi Heintz, of Nevada, Iowa; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dean Slater, and stepdaughter, Angela Tucker.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 12 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian.
