IRNA candidate endorsement luncheon Oct. 25

VERO BEACH — The Indian River Neighborhood Association will host a luncheon featuring its endorsed candidates for the Vero Beach City Council.

The luncheon will take place on October 25 at Noon at CJ Cannon’s.

The endorsed candidates, Pilar Turner, Jay Kramer, and Brian Heady will be speaking about the future of the city as it relates to impacts from the sale of the electric utility.

Each candidate will be responding to the following statements:

As the sale of the electric utility progresses toward conclusion, the voters are more focused on quality of life issues.

Will the level of services be diminished and/or contracted out to the county?

How will the projected revenue shortfall be met?

The sale may well free up substantial cash; how should that be used?

And finally, when the riverfront land that the electric plant is on is freed, what is the vision for the use of that land?

Should it be sold or commercially used?

What about taxes?

This is an opportunity for the public to hear firsthand the plans of these city council candidates as they envision the city’s future.

The luncheon, which is $15, is open to the public, and is payable at the door.

Reservations are strongly suggested.

Please RSVP to (772) 794-4762.
