Arthur “A.J.” James Harris Sr., 87, died Oct. 2 2012
He was born in Baxley, Ga., and lived in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Harris, of Vero Beach; sons, Arthur James Harris Jr., Vincent Outler and John A. Harris, all of Vero Beach; daughters, Frances Williams, of Bartow, Audrey Asberry, of Melbourne, Maria A. Harris, of Rolesville, N.C., and Sylvia Harris, Irene Harris-Cooper and Carolyn Jefferson, all of Vero Beach; 23 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Church of God By Faith.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will be Oct. 15 at the South Florida Veterans Cemetery in Lake Worth.
Arrangements are by Hortense & Mills in Vero Beach.
