Charles Tom Virt, 77, died July 31, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Steinsville, Ind. and lived in Vero Beach for 50 years, coming from Steinsville.
Before retirement, he was the owner of East Coast Builders of Vero Beach and later worked at The Dockside Inn.
He was a member and former president of the Local Brotherhood of Carpentry and Masonry Local Union 1447.
Survivors include his daughters, Vickie Virt, of West Palm Beach, Janet Virt Zaniewski, of Vero Beach; sister, Iva May Johnson, of Cokeburg, Pa.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Martha Virt; grandson, Steven Zaniewski; and brother, William Virt.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., with the funeral at 2 p.m. Aug. 3, at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
