INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Tornado Warning has been issued for southeastern Indian River County, including South Beach, Vero Highlands, Pointe West, Indian River Estates and areas in between.
The warning is in effect until 1 p.m.
The National Weather Service picked up a storm at 12:11 p.m. capable of producing tornadoes in the area of Indian River Estates heading on the northeasterly track.
The potential tornadoes would be wrapped in heavy rain and difficult to see or hear until too late, according to the National Weather Service.
Residents are encouraged to seek shelter inside sturdy buildings, on the first floor and stay away from windows.
