Edward L. Kaiser, 92, died Aug. 12, 2012, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Staten Island, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 1965, coming from the Panama Canal Zone.
He worked for the Indian River School Board where he taught at elementary and high school levels.
He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
He attended the University of Dayton in 1953, earning his bachelor of science in music education; University of Arizona in 1955, earning his master’s in music education; Florida Atlantic University in 1973; and the University of Wisconsin, earning a doctorate in divinity.
He was a Jehovah’s Witness.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3918, Vero Beach and American Legion Post 40, Fort Pierce.
Survivors include his daughter, Terry Lee Carstensen, of Vero Beach; son, Dorian Von Kaiser, of Laredo, Texas; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada L. Kaiser, of Vero Beach.; and sister, Grace Anna Water, of Mesa, Ariz.
