FORT PIERCE — Team Members at Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA) invite you to join them for a relaxing summer kayaking journey on Friday, July 6.
Launch time will be at 9 a.m. from the Little Jim Bridge beach next to the bait and tackle shop located on the southwest side of Little Jim Bridge on North Hutchinson Island.
This trip will offer kayakers a scenic trip on the lagoon and the opportunity to drift through shallow waters that are not easily accessible from boats.
Kayakers will also get a chance to gently weave through the protected mangrove areas of the lagoon that serve as shelters for “fish babies.”
Following the kayaking trip, Team ORCA members will be invited to join ORCA staff and scientists for a delicious lunch prepared by Chef David at ORCA’s labs located in the historical Coast Guard Station on Seaway Dr. on South Hutchinson Island.
Reservations can be made by calling (772) 467-1600.
Cost is $35 for Team ORCA members and $45 for nonmembers. Cost includes guided tour, kayak, paddles, life jackets, and lunch.
