VERO BEACH — The In The Ruff Golf Tournament to benefit H.A.L.O. Rescue and Stray No More, Inc. date has been set, so mark your calendars for Friday evening, July 27, and Saturday, July 28.
Last year’s format with the Friday evening cocktail party was such a success, it will be done again this year. Friday evening from 6:30-9:30 p.m., there will be a poolside cocktail party at the Indian River Club.
Entertainment will be provided again by The Dog Bones, a six piece professional sextet, comprised of four trombones, a tuba, & percussion, based out of Brevard County.
Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening.
There will be a cash bar.
Cost per person will be $45.
It will be so much fun for non-golfers and golfers alike to support two great causes and enjoy a beautiful venue, good food, and friends.
The silent auction will open at the cocktail party, with final bids taken the next day at lunch.
Also entertaining everyone Friday evening is another K-9 demonstration, probably the highlight of last year’s cocktail party (ladies, calm down now.) If you have never seen one, you are missing quite an impressive exhibition of talent and teeth.
The golf tournament day and events at the beautiful Indian River Club will remain basically the same.
To summarize:
Continental breakfast at 8 a.m., four man scramble begins at 9 a.m., followed by an all you can eat barbeque and awards.
Player entry fee is $100 per player.
There will also be pets of all shapes and sizes available for adoption on site again at the golf tournament on Saturday.
The Florida Veterinary League will have a booth and will be providing low cost vaccination vouchers to anyone who asks. This is open to the public.
Corporate sponsors, door prizes, silent auction items, and players are still needed, as well as volunteers to work that day at the registration tables, handling the pets available for adoption, etc.
In addition, individuals and businesses will be offered the opportunity to purchase “tee signs” for $50. This is a sign that could promote a business or memorialize a sentiment to loved ones, or even just a thank you to someone or something important.
Tee signs can include photos and artwork of almost any style. If anyone would like to see some examples, please e-mail me (the files are very large). These signs will be placed along the course where players tee off and will be seen by everyone. It is a great source for advertising.
Tee signs are great income streams for the event. The purchaser is welcome to keep the sign for themselves when the tournament is over.
All of the profits will go to directly assist animals in Indian River County, either via HALO or the Spay/Neuter program established by Stray No More, Inc.
Proceeds are split 50/50 between the two non-profits. All funds raised stay in Indian River County and are used locally.
