Sheldon S. Coe, 95, died May 11, 2012.
He was born in Washington D.C., and lived in Vero Beach since 1981.
He was the owner and president of Industrial Display Co. in Elkhart, Ind.
He was a decorated combat veteran of World War II, having served in the southwest Pacific where he was interned as a prisoner of war for 3 ½ years in Japan.
He was awarded the Silver Star for bravery and the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Valeria; daughter, Kathryn Word, of Arvada, Colo.; sister, Margaret Hutcheon, of Fairfax, Va.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. May 17 at Indian River Estates auditorium.
Burial will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D.
