$12,000 was raised at Spring Swing Golf Tournament benefiting SunUp ARC, Inc.

VERO BEACH — In spite of gray skies and strong winds, everyone had a terrific time at the 7th Annual Spring Swing Golf Tournament held on Saturday, April 14, at Sandridge Golf Club.

The annual golf tournament was once again kicked off with Patricia Moody singing and signing the National Anthem. There is nothing as inspirational as Patricia’s singing and signing.

Special thanks to our Corporate sponsors George E. Warren Corp., Sandridge Golf Club and Agua Vida Design Services, Inc.

It goes without saying that we are extremely grateful to the many local businesses that donated raffle prizes.

Last, but far from least, thank you to the people behind the scenes that made this all happen: Committee chairs Ray and Linda Hengerer, Doug Clement, Darlene Forage, Executive Director of Plumbago Volunteer Services, her “right hand gal” Donna, and the many tireless Plumbago volunteers.

The team of Jeff Meyer, Curt Everman, Nick Struve and Ken Hendrix took first place with a score of 56. Second place winners were Mark Waite, Gary Sloan, Rob Henderson and Alex Henderson with a score of 62.

The real winners of the day were SunUp ARC.

SunUp ARC thanks all the participants, sponsors and contributors. Because of this caring community, close to $12,000 was raised to help the developmentally disabled individuals of Indian River County.

The newly merged SunUp ARC of Indian River County, (previously The Sun Up Center and Abilities Resource Center) is a Non-Profit, 501 (c) 3 agency, dedicated to meeting the needs of people with developmental disabilities in Indian River County.
