VERO BEACH — Want to learn how to give Rover a rubdown? The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB&IRC) will be presenting a free talk on dog massage Wednesday, March 14, from 1-2 p.m. The talk will be held at the shelter’s Adoption and Education building located at 6230 77th St. in Vero Beach.
The Humane Society’s featured presenter will be human and canine massage therapist Amanda Milian of the White Orchid Spa in Vero Beach.
Trained by renowned animal massage therapist Patricia Whalen-Shaw, Milian will be discussing the benefits of massage for dogs and will also be demonstrating various techniques that can help dogs overcome stiffness, pain and stress.
Guests are asked to leave their pets at home for this presentation but will be provided with stuffed animals so they may practice techniques demonstrated by Milian. A question and answer session will follow Milian’s demonstration.
The talk is free, but attendees are asked to reserve seating by calling the shelter at (772) 388-3331 ext. 18.
