VERO BEACH — “Lagoon Nights Sleep-Over” at the Environmental Learning Center is an opportunity for children, ages 7-13, to explore the nighttime activities of the wildlife that abound on Wabasso Island after the lights go out.
Following a pizza dinner, campers will explore the magic of the night on a hike and search for bats, owls, raccoons and bioluminescence. At 10:30 p.m., it’s lights out in a carpeted, air-conditioned classroom. In the morning following reveille, explorers will enjoy a morning expedition and farewell breakfast.
The next Lagoon Nights Sleep-Over is slated for March 9, 6 p.m. – 8:30 a.m. For organized youth groups, cost is $50/child plus $10/chaperone, including dinner and breakfast. There is a $5 discount for members.

The Environmental Learning Center is located at 255 Live Oak Dr. in north Vero Beach, off County Road 510 at the end of the Wabasso Bridge. Its 64-acre campus includes exhibit areas, native plant gardens, picnic facilities, gift shop, and visitor center.
