Paul “David” Cooper, 53, died Feb. 16, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in Wise County, Va., coming to Florida 12 years ago from Boston.
He worked for many years in the medical and nonprofit field.
He was an advocate for the homeless and those unable to care for themselves.
Survivors include his sisters, Victoria Snoha, of Vero Beach and Kathy Collier, of Melbourne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Cooper and Lucy Cooper; sister, Samantha Duncan; brother, Gary Cooper; and his life companion of 30 years, Arthur “Buddy” Harrington.

A celebration of life memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Feb. 20 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, with the Rev. Seth Goldsmith of Coastal Community Church officiating.
