Dorothy D’ Amico Anderson, 76, died Jan. 20, 2012, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
She was born in Rochester, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian for 11 years, coming from Wilbraham, Mass.
She graduated from Purdue University.
She was a professor at Springfield College, Springfield, Mass.
She was a member of ASPCA and the Humane Society of Vero Beach.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth G. Anderson, of Billerica, Mass.; stepsons, Douglas S. McPherson, of San Diego and James McPherson, of Plaistow, N.H.; and stepdaughter, Susan Cassidy, of Meredith, Mass.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. McPherson.
