Indian River Charter TV students win video competition

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River Charter High School TV Production team, made up of dedicated students recently won a video contest for Lights! Camera! Save!, a campaign lead by the American Bankers Association Education Foundation in an effort to teach children and teens about the importance of saving money.

Four teams worked together to create a video about saving money.

“A little friendly competition often brings out the best in my students,” commented TV Production Teacher Kelly Dixon.

The class then voted for the “best” video in the class to send off to competition.

The winning team and overall regional winner consisted of students Alexis Barnard, Frank Hart and Justin Nigg.

This group of students won a $200 Visa Gift Card and advancement to the National Competition where they are competing for $3,000.

Students plan to use their winnings to purchase equipment needed to enhance their weekly newscast, WOLF-TV.
