Kenneth B. Higbie, 87, died Dec. 13, 2011, at his home.
He was born in New York City and lived in Vero Beach, coming from Fort Myers.
Before retirement, he was a scientist for the U.S. government.
He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Higbie, of Vero Beach; son, Glenn B. Higbie, of Stroudsburg, Pa.; daughters, Jane E. Ward, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Margaret A. Creelman, of Vero Beach; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
