William Joseph Daly died Dec. 9, 2011, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute, Fort Pierce.
He was born in Chicago and lived in Vero Beach and Fort Pierce for 27 years, coming from Michigan.
He retired from the Army after 30 years of service.
He served in the Korean War and many other assignments of duty over his career.
He was a member of the VFW Post 10210 Sebastian Chapter and the 187th Rakkasans Paratrooper Group.
Survivors include his wife, Mitsue Sparks, of Fort Pierce; sons, William Sparks, of North Carolina and John Clare Daly, of Muncie, Ind.; daughters, Theresa Daly Commean, of Orange City and Debrah Anne Daly, of Vero Beach; brother, Robert Engborg, of Thailand; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
