Kenneth George Beittenmiller, 87, died Oct. 31, 2011, at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beaach.
He was born in Philadelphia and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years, coming from Tampa.
He owned taverns in Pennsylvania for more than 30 years.
He served in the Navy during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Marie; daughters, Janis Mattos and Lynne Wise; son, Kenneth Beittenmiller; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry.
No services are planned at this time.
