VERO BEACH — The Blue Ribbon Charitable Foundation will present “A Florida Cracker Christmas” at the Heritage Center. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 to benefit the Pet Medical Assistance Program (PMAP) as well as Dogs and Cats Forever No-Kill Shelter.
A scrumptious buffet presented by Elizabeth D. Kennedy & Co., music by the Lucky Dogs, and other holiday entertainment will be featured that evening. A silent auction with great gift ideas and sweet creations from Frosting are just a few elements that will make this a fun way to start the holiday season.
PMAP is an alliance to provide monetary grants for veterinarian care of pets of residents of Indian River County. Need-based grants are available for up to $500.
Once the cost to help the pet is determined, a sliding scale is used to establish how much the grant will be, dependent on the pet owner’s financial ability to pay. A committee of three will determine if the grant will be given and the amount.
Dogs and Cats Forever is a no-kill shelter located in Ft. Pierce that services all of Indian River County and St. Lucie County. It is a not-for-profit , tax exempt sanctuary totally dependent on donations and endowments.
Tickets are $50 per person and are available at Blue Ribbon Grooming and Boarding.
Partial underwriting of this event is due to the generosity of Hal and Barbara DuPont and Trisha Goff. Other sponsorships are available.
If you cannot attend, but would like to make a donation to the PMAP Fund or Dogs and Cats Forever No-Kill Shelter or for more information please contact Martin Lavander at (772) 567-2123.
