SEBASTIAN — Sebastian City Council terms will stay exactly as they are, voters decided Tuesday. Terms will remain two years and elections will be held on both even- and odd-numbered years. Voters chose not to make that change to the city’s charter but did approve other changes.
Voters decided by a margin of more than 600 not to approve making changes to term lengths, though the move could have meant saving the city money on odd-numbered years.
The voters also decided not to approve changes to the Sebastian City Council’s process for removing Charter Officers – such as the City Manager, the City Clerk, and the City Attorney. That proposal failed by a margin of 774 votes.
Sebastian voters, however, approved the remaining six charter questions pertaining to how vacancies on the council would be filled, when council terms would be begin and other such issues.
