OBITUARY: Billy Livings, 75, Vero Beach

Billy Livings, 75, died Oct. 17, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

He was born in Elmore County, Ala., and lived in Vero Beach since 1979, coming from Montgomery, Ala.

He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, earning a master’s degree of art.

He retired as the athletic director/head football coach for Vero Beach High School.

He was a member of the Alabama Hall of Fame, Vero Beach High School Quarterback Club and the Community Church of Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Rosemarie; daughter, Libby Livings-Eassa, of Vero Beach; sons, Mike Livings, of Vero Beach, and Matt Livings, of Palm City; brother, John Livings, of Montgomery; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A celebration of life service will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at Community Church of Vero Beach, with Dr. Robert Baggot officiating.

A remembrance gathering will immediately follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

A tribute to Coach Livings, recognizing his many contributions to the community, will be Oct. 21 before the Vero Beach High School Fighting Indians football game.
