Edward V. Hoos, 95, died Sept. 30, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Jersey City, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 29 years, coming from Spring Lake Heights, N.J.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sierra Club and Vero Beach Country Club.
Survivors include his sister, Adelene Lynch, of New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Hoss; and five brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 2 at Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
Burial with military honors will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.
