Space Coast Symphony presents A London Symphony multi-media experience

VERO BEACH- – Aaron Collins and the Space Coast Symphony take a musical trip across the pond when they present A London Symphony on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2365 Pine Avenue, Vero Beach, 32960.

The concert opens with Wasps Overture by Vaughan Williams, a work scored for a Cambridge production of the Greek play by Aristophanes. The Space Coast Symphony’s principal second violinist, Carey Moorman, will give the Southeastern U.S. premiere performance of Cecil Forsyth’s Viola Concerto in G minor, a work of extraordinary lyricism and powerful melodies.

The concert concludes with Vaughan Williams’ A London Symphony, an affectionate and sometimes elegiac musical portrait of London and its inhabitants in the era that vanished with World War I. Local filmmaker, Jeff Thompson has assembled archival film footage and period photos to accompany Williams’ moving symphony.

$20 advance tickets may be purchased online at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org, at Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches), Madison Avenue Consignments, or by calling (321) 536-8580. Tickets at the door are an additional $5. Students 18 years of age and under admitted free.
