Virgil W. Meythaler, 93, died Sept., 21, 2011.
He was a longtime resident of Vero Beach and owned a winter home since 1969.
He was a 1941 graduate of the University of Illinois.
He was first worked at Arthur Andersen and Co. in Chicago.
Before retiring, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer for Texas Gas Transmission Corp. in Owensboro.
He served aboard a destroyer in the Atlantic during World War II.
Survivors include his sons, Bruce Meythaler, of Evansville, Ind., and Robert Meythaler, of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carol Velde Meythaler; son, Scott Meythaler; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
