Violet Doherty, 83, of Sebastian, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Consulate Health Care Center of Vero Beach.
Doherty was born June 27, 1928, in Thornton, Ill., and moved to Sebastian 19 years ago from Illinois.
She was a homemaker and belonged to the American Legion of Sebastian.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, James A. Doherty, Jr., of Sebastian; son Gary Meyers, of Arizona and daughter Diane Richmond, of Florida.
