SEBASTIAN — The Sebastian Charter Junior High (SCJH) Latin Festival, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 promises to be a fun-filled family event; the first of its kind held at the City of Sebastian Municipal Airport.
Hosted by the multi-talented Orlando Leon, the free 12-hour SCJH Festival will take you on a magical journey through an exciting line-up of the best in Latin music & dance headlined by the renowned, Adlan Cruz and his Orchestra. David Cedeno, Herman Olivera and Adlan Cruz will perform under the stars as the dance floor opens to the audience for eight hours.
There will be dance lessons, dance performances, vintage air craft, vintage auto mobiles and motor cycles along with three performances by the Skydive Sebastian sky dive team – a truly a special family day.
A full array of cuisine and culture will be available along the festival’s vendor row with boutiques and kiosks offering food and merchandise for sale to the crowd.
The Festival benefits the Sebastian Charter Junior High School, an “A+” ranked Charter school in Indian River County. Unfortunately, SCJH is currently housed in eleven-year-old portable units, basically trailers tied together. The current structure has a life expectancy of less than forty-eight months.
John Rivera, president & chairman of the SCJH board, produced and developed this Latin Festival to help raise money to build a new permanent schoolhouse. Rivera, and his production staff, are all donating their time and talent to this cause because this community of children, parents, and educators deserve a permanent building in which to teach and learn. All proceeds generated from this event will go directly to Sebastian Charter Junior High.
