Edwin Harry Lathrop, 90, of Sebastian, died at home on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011.
He was born July 14, 1921, in Stonington, Conn., and moved to Sebastian 20 years ago from Eleuthera, Bahamas.
Lathrop was a pilot who flew independent air charters.
A veteran of World War II and Korea, Lathrop was a major in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a carrier fighter pilot.
Survivors include his significant other, Shirley Knight, of Sebastian; son Harry Lester Lathrop, II., of St. Petersburg; two grandchildren; brother Charles Lathrop; of Stonington, Conn.; and sister Jane Bolin, of Oceanside, Calif.
Arrangements are under the direction of Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Sebastian.
