Ileita Margaret Laws Williams, 82, Vero Beach

Ileita Margaret Laws Williams, 82, died at her home in Vero Beach on Aug. 7, 2011.

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Williams was the daughter of former Chief Justice of the U.S. District Court, Bolitha James Laws and Nancy McLeod Laws, both of Chevy Chase, Md.

She attended Holton Arms School in Washington, DC and took her Associate Arts degree in commercial art from Chevy Chase Junior College.

She and George Williams were married in Feb. 1951.

They moved to San Francisco, Calif., where Mr. Williams was an FBI agent and Mrs. Williams worked for the Bank of America.

Upon returning to the Washington metropolitan area, Mr. Williams started his career with Allied Capital Corporation and Mrs. Williams became a mother and a homemaker.

Mrs. Williams was active in social and community activities, but she excelled as a wife and mom.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years; her two children, Catherine Williams Sullivan, of Vero Beach, and George Cabell Williams, III, of Bethesda, Md.; her four grandchildren, George Williams, Bo Williams, Virginia Williams and Katie Williams; and her sister, Betsy Laws Rill, of Potomac, Md.

Services will be held in Washington, DC on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3 Chevy Chase Circle, Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Following the service, there will be a reception at the Columbia Country Club.
