Janet Louise Brittingham, 86, died Aug. 21, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
She was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and lived in Vero Beach since 1989, coming from Brookfield Center, Conn.
She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
Before retiring, she worked for the Brookfield School System for 13 years.
Survivors include her sons, Douglas Brittingham Jr. and Scott Brittingham, both of New Milford, Conn., Peter Brittingham, of Canaan, Conn., and James Brittingham, of Plymouth, Conn.; daughter, Kathy Adams, of Dunedin; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas.
