Dr. Willard M. Fitch, 88, of Vero Beach, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Dr. Fitch was born June 2, 1922, in Oraville, Ill. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 17 years, coming from Richmond, Va.
His undergraduate studies were obtained from Bucknell University and Asbury College, and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Naval Medical Corps.
After leaving the Navy, he practiced general medicine in South Hill, Virginia.
Following postgraduate residency training at the Medical College of Virginia, he practiced radiology in Richmond, Va., with Radiology Associates of Richmond, retiring in 1985.
He was a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, and a member of the Medical Society of Virginia, the Eastern Radiological Society, the Radiological Society of North America, former member of the Country Club of Virginia, and member of the Indian River Club, and the Vero Beach Yacht Club.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ann; sons, John, of Boothbay, Maine, Bob, of Richmond, Va., and Larry, of Severna Park, Md.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. W.R. & Constance Fitch.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Christ By the Sea Methodist Church in Vero Beach.
