Mary Suzanne (Susie) Clement McCann, 74, died Feb. 12, 2011, at her home in Vero Beach after a brief illness.
McCann was born in Short Hills, N.J., and graduated from the Masters School at Dobbs Ferry in New York.
McCann lived in Vero Beach since the early 1970s.
She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Baxter and Sue Clement, her son, Robert Bruce Beiser, and husband, James McCann.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Carter (Scott) and grandchildren, Suzanne and Will Carter, of Memphis, Tenn.; her brother, William Clement (Ruffles) and nephew, Baxter Clement (Taylor), of Southern Pines, and niece, Shannon Wolf (Jake) and their son, John Lawrence Wolf, of Raleigh, N.C.; her aunt, Dorothy Hammond, of Amory, Miss.; and Steve Babecki, companion.
McCann was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She enjoyed volunteering at Hospice House and Indian River Theater.
McCann was an active member of Highlands Falls Country Club in Highlands, N.C., and of the Vero Beach Yacht Club.
She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge with her dear friends, and creating beautiful needlepoint pieces.
McCann will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends; yet she will be remembered always as a woman of compassion, loyalty and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 in memory of Suzanne McCann.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Feb. 16, 2011, in the John’s Island cemetery, Indian River Shores followed by a reception at her home.
