VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School Symphony Orchestra will perform Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” by Antonin Dvorak, on Sunday, January 30 at 2 pm and 7 pm in the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. The New World Symphony was written in 1893, during the Czech composer’s three year stay in the United States. The William Tell Overture, by Rossini, will lead off the performance. Proceeds from this concert will benefit the orchestra’s trip to Kansas City in March to compete at the National Orchestra Festival. The Vero Beach High School Orchestra is one of only 12 orchestras invited to attend this prestigious event.
The National Orchestra Festival© is an annual festival that brings together orchestras from around the country to a single location in order to provide an unparalleled opportunity to receive constructive evaluation with placement, ratings, comments and education from leading clinicians and adjudicators in the industry. Orchestras are selected to participate in the national festival based on their application and supporting materials.
Tickets are $12 for the lower level and $10 for the upper level; all seating is reserved.
