Lewis “Lew” Palmer Larson, 91, of Vero Beach, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Indian River Estates Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Binford, N.D., and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 21 years, coming from Fishkill, N.Y.
Larson attended the Indian River Estates West Chapel and served as a vestryman for Fishkill Episcopal Church.
He was a chemistry graduate of the University of Minnesota and retired from Texaco Beacon Research Laboratories as a technologist.
He was a life member of the American Chemical Society and Chelsea Yacht Club.
Survivors include his son, Lewis Peter Larson, of Annapolis, M.D.; daughter, Linda Lafferty, of Burlington, N.C.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by wife of 67 years in 2010, Ruth Yesse Larson; sisters, Lucille Larson and Eunice Foster and brother, Gene Larson.
A memorial service will be held in Fishkill at a later date.
