Angela Shirley Holewinski, 52, Vero Beach

Angela Shirley Holewinski, 52, died Dec. 17, 2010, at VNA Hospice House.

She was born in Fort Lauderdale and lived in Vero Beach for 28 years, coming from Fort Lauderdale.

She worked as a painter in the construction industry.

She was a member of the Eagle Lodge 4374, Vero Beach Veterans Club 354 and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 39.

Survivors include her daughters, Milkayala Holewinski, Morgan Holewinski and Jenanna Rix, all of Vero Beach.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House, 1165 36th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Services will be at a later date.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. "It's a great thing," Vero Beach Lifeguard Association officials said in a statement. "We hope people are paying attention to lifeguards and condition signs before they go into the water." ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations. Howle, Zudans win in Vero; Kinchen, McPartlan, Iovino in Sebastian

All results are in for the Vero Beach and Sebastian municipal elections. Voters have returned Harry Howle to the Vero Beach Council and Bob McPartlan and Linda Kinchen to the Sebastian Council. Val Zudans will join Howle on the Vero Council, while Albert Iovino will round out the last of three seats up for grabs on the Sebastian Council.
