Nancy Whitten Knight, 76, died Dec. 10, 2010, at her home.
She was born in Glen Ridge, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach since 1972, coming from her birthplace.
She owned and operated Gil Whitten Florist Shop in Vero Beach from 1974 to 1999.
She was a member of the Indian River Florist Association, where she was past president and treasurer, and the Pilot Club of Indian River County, where she served as president.
She was a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Survivors include her son, Bill Knight, of Vero Beach; daughters, Betsy French, of Fort Collins, Colo., Vicki Newland, of Vero Beach and Patti Harper, of Chesapeake, Va; brother, Gil Whitten, of Mooresville, N.C.; sisters, Joan Wale, of Healdsburg, Calif., and Barb Wilkens, of Shelbyville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Knight.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 16 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Diehl, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Vero Beach, officiating.
