On Saturday, Nov. 3, the corridors of the Indian River Mall were filled with double and triple rows of vendors participating at the monthly “Artisans at the Mall” Arts & Crafts Event to support H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue.
A record number of vendors, 70 in total, participated with all handmade/handcrafted items. Considering this event started last December with only 6 vendors, it’s evident it has truly experienced a growth spurt!
Not only has this fun-filled event become a great fundraiser for H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue, it also attracts business for the Mall stores & Food Court. Most importantly, however, it has brought much awareness of the location of the H.A.L.O. Adoption Center in the Indian River Mall (tucked between Victoria’s Secret & Sears).
This exposure has increased the adoption rate at the Mall location. On Saturday alone, 6 beautiful kittens/cats were adopted and are now enjoying their new life in their “furever” home. Definitely a win-win for all involved.
This event is unique as all vendors must be pre-approved to participate. A high percentage are now repeat vendors, with new vendors added each month to keep it fresh & interesting.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec. 1, from 11am-4pm, as you won’t want to miss this “Artisans at the Mall” event! It’s going to be a celebration honoring H.A.L.O.’s four year presence in Vero Beach and the first year anniversary of “Artisans at the Mall”.
In addition to great holiday shopping, you can meet & take pictures with H.A.L.O.’s mascot “Stewie” from 2pm-4pm, pose with your family for a professional photo by Michael J from Noon-3pm, enjoy light refreshments from 3pm-4pm, & there will be hourly giveaways. As always, there will be spectacular raffle items and lucky ducks to be found!
H.A.L.O. is Indian River County’s only no kill, non-profit animal rescue and adoption center. It is with the support of the community that H.A.L.O. can continue with its efforts to save the lives of hundreds of animals each year.
