Frederick Marshall Sterling, 84, died Nov. 15, 2010, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce.
He was born in Philadelphia and lived in Vero Beach for 22 years, coming from Atlantic City, N.J. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged.
Before retiring, he was a professor of respiratory therapy at Atlantic Community College, Atlantic City, for 12 years.
He was a member of Temple Beth Shalom, Vero Beach, where he volunteered and served as the temple’s office manager.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Atlantic City.
Survivors include his sons, Sam Sterling, of Frisco, Texas, and Bruce Sterling, of Boulder, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at Temple Beth Shalom, Vero Beach, with Rabbi Michael Birnholz officiating.
A second memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Isles of Vero Beach, 1700 Waterford Drive, Vero Beach.
