WABASSO ISLAND – Plans are in full swing for the Environmental Learning Center’s Charity Golf Outing to be held at Bent Pine Golf Club on Friday, November 19. The theme for the 18th annual event is “Birds of a Feather, Golf Together.” The cost is $300 per person inclusive. Festivities begin at 11:30 am with a buffet- style lunch in Bent Pine’s attractive clubhouse. This will be followed by a putting contest with an opportunity to win a $10,000 cash prize. The shot gun start for all players is at 12:30 pm. The event concludes with an Awards/Cocktail Reception featuring a silent auction that includes vacation stays in Montana, Colorado, and Chatham, Mass.
Co-chair Susie Kasten has announced that the hole-in-one contest prize will be a new Maverick Pathfinder 2200 TRS boat with a Yamaha F150 engine and custom trailer. The entire marine package, valued at $50,000, will be displayed on Hole 16, a 165 yard hole-in-one effort.
The Golf Tournament is an important part of ELC’s operating budget with net proceeds funding the non-profit organization’s education programs, such as summer ecology camps.
