Larry McGriff, 61, died April 27, 2010, at Shands Hospital, Jacksonville.
He was born in Vero Beach and lived in Vero Beach and Jacksonville.
He attended Gifford High School and graduated from Vero Beach High School. He was employed by the city of Jacksonville as a firefighter.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly McGriff of Jacksonville; sons, Larry A. McGriff of Vero Beach and Tyruss McGriff and Alton McGriff, both of Jacksonville; daughter, Constance Peterson of Vero Beach; mother, Dollie McGriff of Vero Beach; sisters, Gwendolyn Oglesby of South Carolina and Claudine Reaves and Harriet Evans, both of Vero Beach; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry McGriff; brothers, James, Tyrone and Craig McGriff; and sister, Barbara Jean Powell.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. May 3 at St. Elizabeth Church of Deliverance, Gifford. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. May 4 at St. Elizabeth Church of Deliverance, Gifford. Burial will follow at the Gifford Cemetery.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. May 6 at the Firefighters Union Local 122 Union Hall, Jacksonville.
