VERO BEACH – The Vero Beach Veteran’s Club of America, originally founded in 1947, will host a free Memorial Day Celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday May 31 at their Club location, 2500 15th Avenue (off 26th Street) in Vero Beach.
The event will feature a special tribute to four local veterans who have each served both their country and the community: Lorraine Budney Flanagan, Marine Corp; Bob Skalacki, Navy; Howard Brand, Army; and Tom Chasteen, Air Force.
There will also be a ceremony showing the meaning of the “12 Folds of the Flag,” a raffle drawing and an exhibition of works by local artists. Enjoy a free buffet (covered dishes welcome) while listing to music by Road Fever, featuring Frank the Hat Man.
