INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — If you’ve always wanted to learn more about reptiles, then slither over to the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County on Thursday, April 22.
That’s where City of Vero Beach Animal Control Officer Bruce Dangerfield and Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County Animal Protection Services Director Ilka Daniel will provide a fun and educational presentation on Florida’s native reptiles. The duo’s informative talk will also give adults and children the chance to see a variety of reptiles up close and in person. During the evening, Dangerfield and Daniel will show attendees how to identify a variety of reptiles, explain their behavior in the wild and explore ideas that can help protect Florida wildlife. Guests will also have the chance to hear about Dangerfield and Daniel’s many encounters (some unexpected) with reptiles right here in Indian River County.
“Florida’s Native Reptiles” will be held in the Humane Society’s Adoption and Education Building, located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach on April 22 from 7 – 9 p.m. This is a free event that’s open to the public. For more information call (772) 388-3331 ext. 28.
