Mary Baird Schieber Curry, 95, passed away April 5th at The Place of Vero Beach.
She is survived by her sons, George Schieber of Vero Beach, Dale Curry of Melbourne and Ronald Curry of Fullerton, Calif.
Grandchildren include Darrell Schieber, Shauna Schieber Storm, Lovvon Schieber, Brenda Schieber Miska, Barbara Schieber Ray, Donajean Curry Kapp, Ronald Curry Jr. Great grandchildren include Scott Pearce-Schieber, Kaitlyn Schieber, Dustin Storm, Tiffany Storm Rickert, Andrew Wallace III, William Wallace, Christopher Curry, Karl Ray Jr., Kirsten Ray, Kristen Curry. Jesse King, Todd Rickert.
She was born in Meadville Pa., on Oct. 11, 1914, the daughter of Sam and Ruby Baird. She married Wilbur Schieber and had two sons Bill and George Schieber.
In (1945) she married Edmond Curry and they combined his family of two boys, Ronnie and Dale Curry with Mary Baird Schieber’s two boys Bill and George.
A loving family of six was created. Moving from Meadville to Conneaut Lake in 1946 they started Curry Furnace Company and also built the landmark restaurant The Conneaut Lake Diner. Future moves for the family included, Brunswick Ga., Cochranton Pa., Willoughby Ohio, Grove City Pa., and Kirtland Ohio.
In 1960 after all their sons had gone to college or the military, they moved to Grant. Edmond Curry retired from the experimental department of Piper Aircraft.
After the passing of Edmond Curry, Mary Curry moved to St. Cloud where she volunteered as a Pink Lady at the St. Cloud Hospital, delivered Meals on Wheels and also volunteered at the Cancer Society Thrift Shop.
She eventually moved to Vero Beach to be close to family.
Visitation and viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the eulogy at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 10 at the Fountain Head Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909.
Internment at graveside will be following the noon memorial service on the same day at the Memorial Park at the same address.
