Eleanor St. Clair Hurtt, 86, of Vero Beach and Pittsburgh died Feb. 9 in Vero Beach.
She was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Greensburg, Pa. Before moving to Vero Beach, Mrs. Hurtt and her husband maintained homes in Pittsburgh and Ligonier, Pa.
She was a member of Rolling Rock Club, The Pittsburgh Golf Club, The Twentieth Century Club of Pittsburgh, and Bent Pine Golf Club.
Mrs. Hurtt was predeceased by her husband, William C. Hurtt in 1998; her son, William C. Hurtt, Jr. in 2007; her parents, William C. and Marie Lanz St. Clair; and her brother, William C. St. Clair, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Hurtt Branson and her husband Douglas of Pittsburgh; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Pearse Hurtt of Vero Beach and Rumson, N.J.; her grandchildren Jennifer Hurtt Mullins and her husband, Thomas, Fair Haven, N.J., and William C. Hurtt III and his wife Gretchen of Middletown, Del.; her five great-grandchildren, Virginia Mullins, Olivia Mullins, Amelia Mullins, William C. Hurtt IV, and Gibson Hurtt; her sister, Marilyn Richmond and her husband, John; and her dear friend and caregiver, Frances Tamasy.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mrs. Hurtt’s memory to the McKee Botanical Garden, 350 US Highway 1, Vero Beach, FL 32962 or a charity of ones choice.
A funeral service will be held at Strunk Funeral Home, 916 17th Street, Vero Beach on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. A memorial service will be held in Pittsburgh at a future date.
Funeral arrangements will be made through Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
