Julia “Julie” Irene Livesay, died on Dec. 16 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She was born in New Providence, N.J. on July 13, 1924 to Pasquale and Theresa Procaccini. Julie was the fifth of nine children.
She moved to Vero Beach in 1961 and worked for the Indian River County School System for many years and was a member of the Retired Educators. She also worked for a short period for Mel Fischer.
For many years she was the president of the Rockridge Property Owners Association as well as the neighborhood news reporter to the Press Journal. She was proud to be a volunteer for the VNA for over 8 years.
She was a member of the Pilot Club, Elks, Indian River Safety Council, Florida Association for Childhood Education, Vero Beach Yacht Club, Vero Beach Theatre Guild, and Riverside Theater.
Julie enjoyed fishing, dancing, working in the yard and family activities. She was a faithful friend to many, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her favorite activity was to settle down with a good book.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan Livesay Chesnutt and her husband Fleetwood of Vero Beach; son, David DeMarco George and his wife Anita of Charleston, S.C.; brother, Nick of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Wilma Procaccini of New Providence, N.J. and Josephine Procaccini of Toms River N.J.; brother-in-law, Louis Cucco of Madison, N.J.; granddaughter, Monica Lucas and her husband Jerry of Huntington, W.Va.; grandson, SSgt William Fleetwood Chesnutt Jr. (USAF) and his wife Coral Chesnutt of Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, S.D.; grandson, David Chesnutt of Vero Beach; great-grandson Blake McClure of Huntington, W.Va.; great-granddaughter Virginia, great grandson William III.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 19 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
