Joseph “Joe” Edwards, 90, died Nov. 26, 2009, at The Place at Vero Beach. He was born in Gourock, Scotland, and lived in Vero Beach for 21 years coming from Canada. He was a loftsman at the Lantana Boat Yard in Lantana for 20 years. He attended Roseland United Methodist Church. He served with the British Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sheila Burgess Edwards of Vero Beach; sons, Andrew Edwards of Suches, Ga., and Jonathan Edwards of Raleigh, N.C.; daughters, Gillian Wu of Toronto, Canada, Vivien Howle of Sebastian; brothers, George Edwards of Rock Hill, S.C., Ken Edwards of Saint Catharines, Canada; sister, Doris Scott of Glasgow, Scotland; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Sebastian Cemetery with memorial services to be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory Sebastian.
