Peter W. Aiello, 82, of Vero Beach, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1927 in Moorestown, N.J. and raised next door to his grandparents in South Philadelphia. Pete moved to Vero Beach in 1991, coming from Toms River, N.J. Mr. Aiello served in the Army Secret Service during World War II. He worked as a mechanical engineer with Allied Chemical, now Honeywell, from which he retired in 1994. He was employed by the Vero Beach Museum of Art. Mr. Aiello was a founding father of Mended Hearts in Vero Beach and was a player with the Vero Beach Codgers Senior Baseball League. He was passionate with his hobby of building models of historic sailing ships. Pete was an honorable man who will be missed by his loving wife, Kendra Ann; children, Frances (Joseph) Dyer, Robert Aiello, Jeannie (Peter) Perkins, Kim (Phil) Tanzilli and Charles Roy; and his grandchildren, Anthony & Michael Aiello and Lindsay (Jeff) Perkins. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, October 25th, at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
